I never know what to do with my leftover pie crust. Usually I try and figure something out. I hate letting anything go to waste! This week I make a little pastry for my father after I was done making my mini-apple pies.
He really likes raspberry jam, so all I did was take my little bit of leftover crust, roll it out, slap some jam in there, roll it up and bake it until it was golden brown! It was delicious. What you don’t see in the picture is how the jam explodes in your mouth when you actually take a bite out of it. It was perfect! A small treat and a great way to use up the leftover pie crust.
Raspberry Jam & Leftover Pie Crust Pastry
Leftover Pie Crust
Roll out leftover pie crust. Spread jam on the bottom side of the dough, keeping about an inch away from the left and right sides (to prevent leakage). Roll dough up, and shape if desired. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown, 25-30 minutes.
