The end of the school year finally came, and now I am sitting comfortably in the summer months. Boise has been beautiful and warm lately, dipping into the 90s. Of course I’d prefer it to stay in the 70s, or 80s, but I am always just happy it isn’t cold anymore. I have been enjoying watching the flowers around my property bloom, iris and rose and all kinds of trees. I almost killed quite a few things last year when I messed up the programming on my sprinklers, but hopefully I’ll get it figured out this summer.
Tucker, my kitty, has been going outside more and more. I want to keep him in the yard for the most part, and for now he is content to stay within the confines of the fence.
I imagine that won’t last long. The other day the neighbor kitty, Lucy, came for a visit. She thinks this is her property, and gave Tucker quite the stare-down. It started in the yard, but after I shooed her away they just stared at each other through the fence. It would be cuter if I wasn’t afraid of them getting in a fight, but this is not their first interaction and so far so good.
I have been knitting a bit. My brother had a baby with his wife, and I was making All The Baby Things for a while. He visited the other weekend and I gave him the last thing I’ll make for the baby fora few months, a pair of baby booties. They are the cutest, just like the baby. I hope that someday I’ll get to go to Alaska to visit, or they’ll come down to Idaho to see us.
I have grand plans for the summer, but we’ll see what I actually accomplish. Yesterday was my first full day of freedom, with zero obligations or plans, and it was a little strange and difficult. I did some knitting and started to build another cornhole set. I fell asleep around 7:30pm. It was a lazy and weird day, but I’m sure after a week or two (or by the time it’s the beginning of the new school year!) I’ll have everything figured out a little more.
Right now my main goals are to finish a few crafty project, relax, make things. Maybe clean my house. Get a lot of sleep. Go outside, enjoy.
